The tab structure within the book places emphasis on ideas or passages that are crucial to the rising and passionate content of the dialogue. The call-outs are placed on red strips in the center of each page that allude to the red stripes of the american flag.

The typefaces Lobster and Gotham were chosen to effuse certain American qualites: Lobster as a reference to pop culture and commercial culture; Gotham for it's context in contemporary culture as the typeface of the Obama campaign and a subtle reference to the racial tensions that persist today.
